Feet off the Ground creates transformative, relatable outdoor dance productions which comment on socio- political issues through a feminist lens. The work reflects the company's collective belief in the therapeutic benefit of movement, human connection and touch, and their democratic and collaborative approach to creating dance.

The core collective is made up of 4 artists: Lucia, Patricia, Robyn and Sophie who work in a democratic, non-hierarchical way both in and out of the studio. Feet off the Ground are proud to present an ensemble solely managed and performed by women.

The collective have performed and taught both nationally and internationally including: OffBeat Festival (Oxford), The Place Family Dance Day (London), Chisenhale Summer of Art (London), Let's Do London (Trafalgar Square & Canary Wharf, London), Deptford Lounge (London) Sustainability Hub Big Weekend - The Point (Eastleigh), GraciasXfavor Festival (Santander, Spain), Art Night (Southbank, London), Play Circus Festival (Wales).

The collective was founded in 2013 whilst studying together at London Contemporary Dance School.

LUCIA CHOCARRO  is from Pamplona, north of Spain. Moving to the UK to pursue her training in dance, she graduated from London Contemporary Dance School in July 2013 with a First Class Honours. Lucia has worked on a variety of projects across the UK and internationally, and has performed with Akram Khan Company, Punchdrunk, Gecko Theatre, Wayne Parsons Dance, Agudo Dance Company, Jamaal Burkmar Dance, Maxine Doyle, Aaron Sillis/ Sillis Movement, Sarah Dowling, Barnaby Booth, BitterSuite, Nua Dance, Nina Von Der Werth, Victoria Fox, Just Us Dance Theatre (Joseph Toonga) and worked as a Special Action Artist for Wonder Woman and Justice League with Warner Bros Productions. Lucia is also a certified Yoga Alliance Teacher and practitioner.

ROBYN HOLDER  grew up in Makhanda, South Africa. Since graduating from London Contemporary Dance School in 2013, she has collaborated with varying artists and musicians and has performed both nationally and internationally. Robyn has performed with Glyndebourne Opera (Cendrillon and Rusalka), The Royal Opera House (Reimagined productions: The Nose and The Magic Flute), East London Music Group (Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale), Lexi Zelda Stevens (Contents in Touch) and Grov Productions (Her Past in their Present Now).  Robyn has dynamic teaching experience covering a spectrum of ages and styles including: creative movement, contemporary technique, ballet and contact improvisation.

SOPHIE THORPE  is from Nottingham, England. She graduated from London Contemporary Dance School in July 2013 and went on to join Verve, the postgraduate performance company of Northern School of Contemporary Dance, where she graduated with Distinction. Sophie has worked with a variety of choreographers including Tom Dale, Sarah Dowling, Mike Ashcroft, Sarah Fahie and Grov Productions performing both nationally and internationally. She has also performed with The Royal Opera and Glyndebourne and was Movement Director on opera ‘Take Care’.  

Sophie teaches a range of dance and movement classes.

PATRICIA ZAFRA  is from Valencia, Spain. After training at the Maria Carbonell Dance School she moved to London to complete her degree at London Contemporary Dance School, where she graduated from in July 2013. Since completing her training, Patricia has performed on a number of varying projects and has worked with New Movements Collective, Just Us Dance Theatre, Rick Nodine, Theo Clinkard, Saju Hari Dance, deaf choreographer Chisato Minamimura and Nutkhut Company. Patricia has worked as a supporting artist on a number of TV and film productions including The Crown and Guerrilla. In 2018 she completed her Yoga Teacher training in Rishikesh, India. She also supports women create a less stressful rhythm to their lives through her Women's Circles, Yoga Retreats and special online programmes

Hayley graduated from Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in July 2011. Hayley has worked as a dancer for physical theatre, dance and opera companies, including Highly Sprung, Folk Dance Remixed, Garsington Opera, Opera North and the Royal Opera House. Choreographers and directors Hayley has worked with include; Anna Morrissey, Mark Murphy, Rosie Whitney-Fish, Taira Foo, Sarah Swire and Annie-Lunnette Deakin-Foster. Hayley is  rehearsal director and performer for The Natashas Project, an international physical theatre charity. Its aim is to use dance to inform and equip the public about Human Trafficking and Modern Day Slavery. As a Movement director, Hayley has worked with Guildhall, Paines Plough Theatre, Stef O’Driscoll on various productions and CleanBreak, a women’s theatre company tackling the complex theme of women and crime, working in prisons and in the wider community. Hayley is also a qualified personal trainer and dance teacher.
